Message From Principal
It is my pleasure to write this message as 7th Principal of College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, WBUHS, Kalyani, Nadia. The College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, WBUHS, Kalyani, Nadia, is the college under the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, established in the year 2009 and the 1st Batch MBBS students came in 2010 through Joint Entrance Examination of Govt. of West Bengal & by NEET-UG. As the logo of the College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, WBUHS, Kalyani, Nadia, depicts it has three mottos

- Service to Humanity
As we all Know that any Medical College should have a Hospital and this Medical College which was earlier a Sub-divisional Hospital, but now it is converted to Medical College Hospital. Subsequently the Gandhi Memorial Hospital (2nd Campus), Kalyani, Nadia, is incorporated under this Medical College.
The College has faculties of Twenty One Departments which are required for Under Graduate Curriculum. To start with the intake capacity of students is 100, but now is trying for intake capacity of 150 students. It has also initiated to start Post Graduate Courses in different departments.
The college has a Scientific Review Committee & Ethics Committee which reviews any kind of articles been published in Journals and all the teachers are dedicated in research, teaching and the implementation of the normal discipline which has to be maintained in any Academic Institute. State, National & International Scientific conferences of different discipline are also conducted in regular intervals. The college has a Modern OT Complex where different Surgical Procedures are being done. A new auditorium is almost ready. The College has separate Hostels for Male, Female & Post Graduate Students. The college is located pollution free environment of Kalyani City of Nadia District which is approx. 60 km away from Kolkata, well connected through train and bus from the State Capital.
Apart from study, the students here actively participate in Sports, Games and different Literary Cultures and contribute articles in different Medical Periodical. Many STS projects of ICMR are done by meritorious students under the able guidance of the teachers. Many students are getting chance in different Post Graduate disciplines of Medical Sciences through NEET-PG entrance every year. The students and teachers actively take part in the service to the Humanity and there are incidents where students have distributed clothes and blankets among the poor in the slum areas.
I hope within very few years this College will be within top few colleges of India.
